Children & Children's Church

In today's society, many people have the opinion that Children’s Ministries are nothing more than games and coloring.  This is not the case at First Presbyterian.  Children as young as pre-school age have been heard talking about their relationship with Jesus like they had already graduated from seminary.  The Bible says “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12.  Jesus set the example as to how important children are, as referenced in the scriptures (Mark 10:13-16 and Matthew 18:5-6).  Children must see the love of Christ demonstrated (not simply told), so they can understand what a relationship with Him looks like.  During the school year, children may participate in Sunday School, Children’s Church, Children’s Sermon, and various programs throughout the year.  In the summer, children may participate in Vacation Bible School and weekly Children’s Sermons.  The schedule for the Children’s Ministry is listed below.

· Sunday School 9:45 - 10:50 (Pre-school through 5th grade all year-round.)

  • Children who are age 3 by the start of the school year may join the Pre-school class.

· Children’s Sermon during the 11:00 Service
· Children’s Church during the 8:30 and 11:00 Services
· Nursery provided Sundays from 8:15 - 12:15
· Nursery provided Wednesday Nights from 6:15 until all classes are finished for the evening.
